WOUNDED WARRIOR PROJECT IS A SUCCESS

Wounded Warrior Project

Update – August 2010

As of July 4th, 2010 we succeeded in raising $25,000 in donations for the Wounded Warrior Project. As a Corporate Sponsor our goal was set at $25,000, and, as a result of our efforts throughout the year we were able to meet our goals. We would like to thank everyone that donated to this worthy cause, and a special thanks to all that volunteered their time and efforts, with the fundraising projects, throughout the year.

While the war in Iraq is winding down, the war effort in Afghanistan rages on. We thank God for those that come home safely, but we also recognize that the wounded warriors coming home may take months, years and a lifetime to heal. Therefore, Mercer Transportation has decided to be a Corporate Sponsor of the Wounded Warrior Project again this year. Our goal will be to raise at least $25,000 by July 4th, 2011.

If you donated during the past year, we THANK YOU, and hope you will consider donating to our Wounded Warrior Project efforts again. The Mercer family of contractors, agents and employees has always been generous with raising funds for worthy causes and charities. This is just one of the many things that make the Mercer family ‘the best’.

This year, we hope to make our fund raising efforts bigger and better! We will continue to sell WWP hats and shirts, as well as those great decals (available in various sizes and colors) for all of your vehicles. Wouldn’t it be great to see a “Proud Supporter of the Wounded Warrior Project” decal on the side of nearly 2000 Mercer trucks?

Fund raising events will be held around Louisville throughout the year as well as the Mercer booth at Truck Shows across the country. It is our plan to start earlier this year with the 2nd Annual Mercer / Wounded Warrior Golf Scramble. The Golf Scramble was a big success and we’ve learned how to make it even bigger next year. For those Agent Offices who may wish to join our efforts by hosting fund raising events in your local area …………. WE WELCOME YOU.

So, if you don’t have a Mercer/WWP hat or shirt (or need a new one) please contact Chasity Galey(Louisville Office) and we can drop ship some to you. Mercer Truckers: if you need a WWP decal for your truck, please contact Chasity. Also, if you want to make a donation per load or per month, we can easily set that up through settlements. Or, we will be happy to accept cash or a check at any time.

On behalf of the Wounded Warriors and the Wounded Warrior Project: Thank You

We had the big WWP stickers on the sides of our truck. The first truck wash and they both peeled off. I ask which stickers will stay on throw truck washes and were told none. My dad was a POW so it made me feel good to have the stickers on our truck. We have the POW mud flaps on our van. If you get stickers that will stay on throw truck washes let us know. Thanks
