One of the many topics during the driver forum was adding a radius search to the Contractor Web. I spoke with John Eliassen, who if you don’t know, is one of our four General Managers, and he is also over our IT department. Looks like the radius search is going to be added to the Contractor Web.

I know a lot of you were asking for this change, which would enable you to enter in a location, and select a mileage radius to search around that location for freight. The radius search will replace the state by state search. We are hoping for the change to come sometime next week. I will post went it is a done deal.

Is the destination option still going to be there? I have found that to be a VERY useful tool!

Sounds like we will lose the state-by-state option. Too bad really. It was a very useful tool

I also like the state-by-state option – isn’t there a way to keep that in there too?

About time… will this include the DESTINATION RADIUS also?

How about an archived list of past loads hauled? Just an idea.

Yes LM, I think that we will also have a destination radius as well.

I am on the bandwagon with Brian. I think all agents should put all important information into the system so those of us that use the contractor web can see the information we need without taking time away from our coordinator having to pass it on verbally over the phone. I think POC and POD Names and phone numbers should be considered required information right along with the miles and money the load pays.

I agree with John about POC and phune numbers as needed info but that info should be added after the load is dispatched. Not that I WOULD or WILL call before dispatch if the numbers are there someone might. We talked about this in your office yesterday Jason so you do understand my stance.

mabey by going to a radius load board will give some of us a shot at some better loads. also will we still be able to check state for state for possible loads in return

Chuck i don’t think it would be much of a problem for this information to be “hidden” in the screen until it shows under the dispatched load option off the main page. I’m sure the IT guys can figure out how to hide it on the available list. That is a very good idea.

Hi there everybody, I’m a newhire here, been here about a month and have already found the state search o be very useful, but would also like to see a radius search added as well. Also what would be a nice feature is if there was a filter for stepdeck loads vs flat loads.
    Thanks… Happy Trails

It’s not a filter but if you click on the trailer type column heading it will rearrange the available loads list by trailer type so your stepdeck loads will be grouped together and easier to find.
